Why Does My PDF Print with Strange Characters? (Solved)

Fixing Hieroglyphics, Symbols, and Font Bugs When Printing PDFs.

Compartir:

Sometimes, printing a PDF document can generate a string of incomprehensible symbols or white squares instead of the original letters. This problem is related to character fonts.

A Problem with Non-Embedded Fonts

If the PDF creator did not embed the fonts in the file, your printer attempts to replace them. If it cannot find a match, it prints hieroglyphics.

The Universal Solution: Flattening or Printing as an Image

To resolve this bug, check the 'Print as Image' option in your viewer's settings, or pass the file through iLoveDoc's 'Flatten PDF' tool before printing.

By converting vector text into fixed geometric shapes (flattening), you ensure perfect printing on any printer model.
